At Dusk: Frank G. Karioris

Frank G. Karioris (he/they/him/them) is a writer and educator based in Pittsburgh whose writing addresses issues of friendship, masculinity, and gender. Here,

the lights still tinkle.

 

It’s sometimes forgotten that while lights twinkle,

which is them illuminating a world a certain way,

 

They used to tinkle as well,

that specific noise when they are turned on. 

 

This

sound is somewhere between

 

aluminum crinkling and a small star

bursting into being

 

as supernovae in process,

happening in each lightbulb throughout the room.
