I search for a half formed smile
In the greying corners of a shadow
I look for the arched spine of an eyebrow,
reflected in the pools of a forgotten dream
And sometimes, in moonbeams, on a Sunday,
I look for your laughter in my hands, in their lines
drawn by your hair, wet from an afternoon sea breeze
But I shake the monsoon slumber
from my eyes and in some lonely passageway,
clutch at an image
of your small hands.
