The price of gas went up again.
I couldn’t afford to fill the tank,
so I sold the old Toyota.
The bus doesn’t run too often.
I got to the supermarket late
for my job as a bag boy
and the manager let me go.
The landlord raised the rent again.
My Social Security check
isn’t enough for food and rent.
Florida’s warm most of the time
so I’ll try to sleep on the beach,
unless there’s a hurricane,
then I don’t know what I’ll do.
I won’t go to a nursing home.
I’ll just live as long as I can.
