It is Saturday by the Gregorian calendar,
the morning after a bad storm.

He sits at the kitchen table with the news.
Drops an ice cube in his coffee.

Rumors of Jamaica. Of Bangladesh.
Of a dinosaur find. Real estate in Maine.

He has a headache again.
Concludes that his medication is the cause.

Recalls his grandfather.
Pictures him, bones and shreds of fabric.

Tilts back his chair, gazes out at the weather.
At a woman entering a space vehicle.
